Strength & Cycling Group Training

Multi-Sport & Open Water Swim Group Training

Walk & Run Group Training

General Information: Park/train locations will alternate between Santa Cruz, Watsonville, and Monterey  locations.  Every effort will be made to follow the dates listed below. Any changes will be noted in club updates, training group newsletters, and shared on the cmsbr Facebook page as soon as is possible to facilitate changes.  Each participant will receive a group specific calendar & newsletter for each training group. 


Strength Group Training

Start Strong 

Jan. 3 - Feb. 9             $120

12 Tuesday & Thursday 45 minute    6 pm workouts. Each will help you gain core strength, balance, agility, and sport specific muscular strength. At the Amaris Home in Soquel. Limited to 8 athletes.


 Cycling Group Training

Bike Basics

Jan. 8 - Feb. 12               $72

6 Sunday 9 am 45-60 minute skill sessions. If you have been off the bike for awhile or have a "new" bike this is the group for you. We will cover safety and riding skills as well as some basic maintenance. Meets at Cabrillo College in Soquel.


hills . and. valleys

Mar. 23 - Apr. 27   $72

6 Thursday 6 pm 45-70 minute skill sessions. This group will focus on hill climbing, descending, cycling speed, and other skills based on the needs of the group. Comfort on your bike is a must.  Meets at Cabrillo College in Soquel


Club Rides-Spring Series

Mar. 25 - May 6              $210

7 Saturday 8 am 1-6 hour rides depending on mileage. Be ready for  Strawberry Field, Tahoe Rim or any May/June ride. Distance groups will start with 6 & 24 miles and safely add mileage each week. You must be hydration & nutrition self-sufficient with a safe & sturdy bike. Park/start locations will vary.


Club Rides-Fall Series

Aug. 12 - Sept. 23    $210

7 Saturday 9 am 1-6 hour rides depending on mileage. Be ready for  Morro Bay Lighthouse Rides (65/75), any  Fall ride,  or join us to spin some miles.  Distance groups will start with 6 & 24 miles and safely add mileage each week. You must be hydration & nutrition self-sufficient with a safe & sturdy bike. Park/start locations will vary.

Kick Start 

Jan. 28 - Mar. 11      $105

7 Saturday 9 am 1-2 hour workouts. Workouts are a time-based combination of speed and endurance. You will be ready to run/walk any Spring 5K/10K race.


Cheetah 

April 4 - May 10              $72 

6 Tuesday 6 pm 45-60 minute workouts. Daylight Savings Time returns and we can start working on our speed. No experience required- just a desire to run faster.


Journey Through Summer 

June 5 - July 18             $126 

3 Tuesday 6 pm 45-60 minute workouts and 6 Saturday 8 am 1-2 hour workouts will have you ready for our local favorite - Wharf To Wharf (6 miles) or any Summer 5K/10K race.


Stay The Course

Aug. 7 - Sept.16     $126

3 Tuesday 6 pm 45-60 minute workouts and 6 Saturday 8 am 1-2 hour workouts provide this opportunity to keep moving through late summer/early fall.   Be ready for Little Wharf or any 5K/10K fall race.  


Turkey Trot Training 

 Oct. 9 - Nov. 18     $126                                                 3 Tuesday 6 pm 45-60 minute workouts and 6 Saturday 8 am 1-2 hour workouts. You will be ready for any Turkey, Santa, Jingle, or Holiday themed 5K/10 K race in the area.

All multi-sport training groups offer triathlon, duathlon, aquabike and aquathlon workouts for single competitor or relay athletes. 


Spring Multi-Sport Training

Mar 26 - May 20        

Sprint $160 Olympic $240 

8 Sunday 8 am 1-3 hour workouts with single sport workouts calendared during the week, some as a group and some on your own. No experience necessary!  Target Race: Morgan Hill Sprint 


Half Ironman70.3           April - Sept   $80/month

Sunday 8 am workouts with single sport workouts calendared during the week, some as a group and some on your own.  Six month commitment is required. Must be Olympic Race Ready on April 1st.


Summer Multi-Sport 

June 5 - August 5       

Sprint $160 Olympic $240 

8 Sunday 8 am 1-3 hour workouts with single sport workouts calendared during the week, some as a group and some on your own. No experience necessary!               Target Race: Tri Santa Cruz  


Open Water Swim 

Open Water Swim Series May 29 - July 2   $180
5 Thursday 6 PM  45 minute skill sessions, 5 Sunday 8 am Endurance Swims, and 2 Wednesday 6 PM Zoom clinics make up this series. All swim activities at Cowell's Beach with free parking at our community partner location. Must be able to swim 100 yards unassisted.


Club Swims - Fall Series

July 6 - Aug. 24        $110

8 Thursday 6 pm & 2 Sunday 8 am swims. There is no instruction in this series. It is a great opportunity to stay in the Open water and swim with friends. All swim activities at Cowell's Beach with free parking at our community partner location. Must be able to swim 100 yards unassisted.
